As Pete sat leant over the desk in his home office, Jackie walked up behind him, lightly ruffling his hair before slipping her arms around his neck and resting her chin on his shoulder. “What are you doing in here so late? It’s the middle of the night, sweetheart.”
“I know, Jacks.” He raised his hands to rest his palms over her wrists. “You go back to bed.”
“Not without you.” She turned her head to kiss his cheek.

Jackie smiled, raising her eyebrows slightly. “Blimey! That’s impressive! You should have brought it home.”

“Hi, beautiful.” Pete slipped his right arm around Jackie’s waist, leaning in to kiss her as he lifted his other hand to her cheek.
She smiled, reaching up to kiss him a couple more times. “Hello, Pete.”
He grinned, letting his fingers trail along her jaw to caress the skin behind her ear. “I bought you something today.”
“Yeah?” She ran her hands up the front of his suit until they met at the back of his neck. “What?”
